Throwback post to the most amazing Christmas illumination I’ve seen. Didn’t know about this place until we came across this brochure at the train station and we made an impromptu decision to visit. Thank god everything worked out and we managed to catch one of the last buses back to city after the visit. 😂
To be honest, they really invested in just this magical stretch and the rest of the park pretty much paled in comparison 😂 but it was pretty cool to explore a new place.

Park Royal Collection did a $45 mil overhaul to transform what used to be Marina Mandarin to the new garden-in-a-hotel concept. They reopened their doors in late 2020 and while there are still minor elements that remind of the predecessor, the overall vibe does feel updated.
Visited Shenzhen in 2018 and was fortunate to catch the light show that was specially designed for the city’s 40th anniversary in 2020 (yes, they started testing the light show 2 years in advance).
My then-colleague brought me up Lianhuashan for a front-row experience to the show and even though I wasn’t a fan of light shows, I remember it being pretty incredible. Don’t think it’s still ongoing now but would love to visit Shenzhen again for the food. Shenzhen has been nothing short of welcoming to people from different provinces and has grown into a melting pot for the different cultures and food so I got to try lots of different Chinese food. 🤤
Watching Hell’s Kitchen on Netflix and going “hey, we’ve been there” whenever they show the streets of Vegas.
We sometimes talk about wanting to visit US again after the Covid situation gets better but the default responses among friends and families have always been “maybe in a few more years...it’s not safe now”. 😥
